As Always, Thank You
The 2014-2015 school year is winding down.
Some years are challenging. Some are great. This one has been both.
I say this every year, but it’s true. Each and every school year seems to fly by faster than the last. It could be age, or it could just be in my head. I’m afraid it’s probably my age.
This year has no doubt been my favorite of my four years. The seniors were freshman when I started. 8th graders were just starting at East Prairie, and the 4th graders were 1st graders.
Four years ago all three of these classes were starting down a new path in their respective buildings. To watch them grow, mature, learn and get more confident has been an absolute pleasure.
The district continues to accomplish great things. Students continue to achieve, staff members continue to do their very best, and the district continues to address our financial challenges.
I’m happy to say our financial issues, while not gone, are certainly not the everyday challenge they were four years ago.
I continue to be overwhelmed by so many people who help, volunteer, donate and work with our students over the course of the year.
It takes many people to run a successful school district, and Tuscola certainly has our share who do more than their part.
Just like with all big organizations, we need to continue making good decisions. This encompasses finances and educational decisions. We have to continually make small consistent quality decisions over an extended period of time to get where we need to be. In my opinion, it’s not the big things that can get a school district in a bind, but it’s a series of small things that eventually add up.
I have the utmost confidence we will accomplish our goals, both educationally and financially, but it does take time and patience.
With that being said, I look forward to finishing up this school year and getting our students back on August 17, 2015 for an even greater 2015-2016 school year.

4th Grade Prom PSA Videos
This is a series of Public Service Announcements that our 4th graders have made for TCHS students who are attending Prom. The students worked hard incorporating persuasive writing while practicing the skill of oral presentations. Stay tuned for new videos added daily to the playlist.
